Daniel Reibsamen

About Daniel

Daniel's interest in computers began in high school where he was the team captain and control system programmer for his high school's US First Robotics Team. Daniel got his start with open source developing small websites for friends and family while attending college, it is here where he fell in love with the open source world.

Daniel first attended Richard Bland College of The College of William and Mary and received an Associates in Science degree in May of 2004. He then attended the University of South Carolina, and in August of 2006 he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree with a Minor in Computer Science. After attending college at USC, Daniel decided to focus mainly on software design and development, where he further honed these skills by receiving an AAS in Computer Programming in December of 2007 from ECPI Technical College.

For the first few years of Daniel's professional career as a software engineer, he mainly programmed in VB/C# .NET; however, in 2007 was introduced to PHP and MySQL and didn't look back. Shortly thereafter he became a PHP 5 Zend Certified Engineer (ZCE) as well as a Certified MySQL Developer*. After completing the Oracle Training for the MySQL DBA Certification course, Daniel obtained his certification to became an Oracle Certified Professional as a MySQL DBA. He focused on designing custom open source applications along with custom module development for software packages such as SugarCRM and Joomla!. Daniel has vast experience in the Full Software Life Cycle and is a proven Open Source Professional.

Reibsamen Corporation was founded in 2010 as a result of Daniel's passion for open source development and to help friends and family with website and computer support. In January of 2012 Reibsamen Corporation began offering IT support and custom development solutions to the rest of the world. As of 2015, Reibsamen Corporation is now Shift One Labs. Shift One Labs is a full service development firm located in Richmond, VA where we specialize in open source applications.

Daniel grew up in a small town south of Richmond, Virginia called Chester. He currently resides in Henrico, VA with his beautiful wife Emily and daughter Madison. His interests are soccer, boating, and Jeeps.
